I met Aliya via TikTok. The first video of hers that I came across was her clapping back to some negative comments telling her "you're not a cowgirl" because of her dreads. I loved her positivity, individuality, and drive to create the Alt Equine community and brand. Immediate follow!

Her shoot, which took place in Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio, was such an amazing experience. First, let me just say, you wanna talk cowgirl shit? This girl can R-I-D-E! I challenge anyone to do the things she did in a saddle let alone bareback and in a dress.

Now, can we just revel in these witchy vibes? I loved how all these little pieces pulled together and shooting in the forest just really brought in a magical element. Even better, we were shooting on the Solstice! Such a fun coincidence. I loved getting to stretch my creative muscles shooting inside of Chapel Cave aka 21 Horses Cave and we just spent hours slowly making our way back to the trailhead and stopping to shoot in different pockets along the way.
